Ever After

I think Christopher Durang said it best in his play, "Beyond Therapy,"
"..you know the song 'Someday My Prince Will Come"? Well, it's s***. There is no prince."
That is how I always felt about romance and relationships. I never really believed I was going to find a prince to sweep me off my feet, but secretly, I wouldn't have minded if someone did come along and ride off into the sunset with me...
This song for me shows that when you stop looking for the fairy tale ideal of perfection, you just might find something a whole lot better.

I never was one to believe in destiny.
I believe in what I can see with my eyes.
But now you got me wondering,
Was it fate that brought you straight to me?
Never believed in fairy tale endings,
But something inside of me wanted to.
Now your kiss on my cheek is all the magic I need
All I want is you.
Now I, I don't need a knight in shining armor.
I don't need a man of steel (no I don't)
Cause I know that's all just make-believe
And what we got is real.
Never believed in fairy tale endings,
But something inside of me wanted to.
Now your kiss on my cheek is all the magic I need
All I want is you.
How many frogs did I kiss before I found my prince?
Well, I'd say more than a few.
But, I know it was well worth the wait
Now that I found you.
Never did believe in fairy tale endings
But something inside of me wanted to.
Now your kiss on my cheek is all the magic I need
All I want is you.
Never believed in fairy tale endings,
But something inside of me wanted to.
Now your kiss on my cheek is all the magic I need
All I want is you.
All I want is you.
All I want is you.
